Bild: Russian Armed Forces Counter-Offensive In Kursk Region Turns Into Disaster

The Russians have suffered serious losses.

According to Julian Röpke, a Bild expert on open data analysis, Russian troops have been conducting a major counter-offensive operation in Kursk region for three days now in order to squeeze Ukrainian forces out of there.

Earlier, the US newspaper The New York Times wrote that Moscow had amassed up to 50,000 soldiers from Russia and the DPRK there.

However, as Röpke notes, so far the Russian Armed Forces have only suffered huge losses and have only been able to recapture two small villages, Pogrebki and Daryino.

‘Preliminary territorial changes after three days of massive Russian counter-offensive in Kursk region. As a result, [Russia] lost 28 armoured vehicles (mostly modern BTR-82A) and more than 200 soldiers killed or wounded. What a disaster for Putin and his generals,’ Röpke writes.
