Due to possible unrest.
The US National Guard has been put on alert due to possible unrest during the presidential election. The troops have been trained in several states.
CNN reports.
It is noted that in anticipation of possible civil unrest in connection with the presidential elections in the states of Washington, Oregon and Nevada, the National Guard is on alert.
In Washington and Oregon, cases of ballot box burnings have been previously recorded. The US Department of Homeland Security warned that threats to "election infrastructure" remain high.
Oregon Governor Tina Kotek said on Friday, November 1, that the National Guard is ready as political leaders call for peaceful protests.
Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo also announced this week that 60 National Guard troops are on standby "to prepare for a safe and peaceful Election Day."
