But on one condition.
Poland can send peacekeepers to Ukraine. However, this can only happen under the auspices of NATO.
This was stated by the Speaker of the Sejm Szymon Hołownia, Rzeczpospolita reports.
“In my opinion, Poland should first and foremost protect its interests in this regard. And we must ask, of course, we always ask what is good for Ukraine, but first we must always ask what is good for Poland. From the Polish point of view, and we have repeatedly said this, our participation in various types of military actions in Ukraine can only take place under the auspices of NATO and in NATO structures,” the Speaker of the Sejm said.
According to him, if we consider any participation of Poland at this stage, “there is no other formula than NATO for this to happen.”
“We just need a guarantee of security in such situations. If this is really a mechanism that will be useful to Ukraine, that will stabilize Ukraine, that will open up new prospects for Ukraine, it must be firmly rooted in a language that Russia understands,” he assured.
Hołownia emphasized that Russia understands one language — the language of force.
“And this is where the entire Alliance should stand. Russia today, and this is another factor that is featured in all these negotiations, is in a different situation than it was a week ago. I mean the situation in Syria,” the politician added.
