New satellite images have been released of the failed launch of the Sarmat nuclear intercontinental ballistic missile from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome in Russia.
The images were provided by Maxar and published by OSINT analyst George Barros.
The images show a large crater, approximately 62 meters in diameter, where the missile launched, as well as extensive damage to the site and surrounding area. This indicates that the missile exploded almost immediately after ignition or launch.
Small fires are also seen smoldering in the forest to the east of the launch pad, and four fire trucks can be seen near the destroyed pit.
