BILD: Russian Major Offensive In Kursk Region Ends In Failure

The Ukrainian Armed Forces are redeploying units.

According to Putin's statement in mid-August, the Russian army should have completely regained control of the entire territory of the Kursk region by October 1, BILD reports.

However, the Russian counteroffensive has been delayed — only on September 17 did Russian Armed Forces tanks advance south from Korenevo. The Kremlin soon announced that the Russian army has until mid-October to return the territories occupied by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to Moscow's control.

However, this goal also seems illusory for now.

The Ukrainian military is not ready to retreat without a fight — the Ukrainian Armed Forces command is redeploying new units to the Kursk region. The Ukrainian army is trying to outflank the Russian counterattack in Kursk and force the Russian Armed Forces units to defend themselves in several directions at once.
