There Was An Explosion In Cairo Ahead Of Trump's Flight To Egypt

A column of smoke went up.

There was an explosion in the Egyptian capital Cairo ahead of a peace summit on Gaza, causing a column of smoke to rise. As Cairo 24 reports, citing sources, the cause of the loud sound was construction work, and dust was mistaken for smoke.

The publication specifies that the sound was heard by residents of the neighborhoods of several towns at once - Shorouk, Badr and New Cairo. The source explained that the sounds were caused by construction work underway in the area.

The explosion occurred shortly before the start of a summit to end the Israeli-Palestinian war. It will be attended by US President Donald Trump, along with leaders of other countries.
