Lars-Gunar Wigemark has been appointed Charge d'Affaires of Sweden in Belarus. This was announced by the Swedish diplomatic mission on its Instagram page.

"Lars-Gunar Wigemark worked in the EU diplomatic service, where he was head of delegation and EU special representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as head of delegation in Pakistan. Previously, he served at the Swedish Embassy in Moscow, the Permanent Mission of Sweden to the European Union in Brussels, as well as at the embassies in Washington and Belgrade," the embassy said.

Reminder, the previous Swedish Ambassador to Belarus Christina Johannesson ended her cadence in 2022.
