Germany To Transfer 2 Billion Euros Worth Of Weapons To Ukraine

IRIS-T, missiles for Patriot and beyond.

Germany will provide Ukraine with new military aid for more than 2 billion euros. It is aimed at strengthening Ukraine's air defense.

This was announced by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, reports Der Standard .

Pistorius said during a Ramstein meeting in Brussels that Ukraine, in particular, will receive a military aid package worth about $500 million. It includes missiles for Patriot air defense systems, radar systems, and precision-guided artillery ammunition.

Germany will also provide Ukraine with two IRIS-T systems with a large number of guided missiles. Deliveries of anti-tank weapons, communications equipment and modern small arms are expected.

"Current events on the battlefield in Ukraine should strengthen our determination to continue supporting Ukraine," the minister said.

According to him, Russia shows no desire to end the war against Ukraine and is trying to cover up its failures by striking peaceful Ukrainian cities. At the same time, the AFU is significantly slowing down the advance of Russian soldiers.

Pistorius specified that, according to German estimates, Russia has lost about 300,000 soldiers since the beginning of the year.
