What is known.
The Ansar Allah movement, which controls about a third of Yemen's territory, announced the death of Mohammed al-Gamari, chief of general staff of the Houthi-allied armed forces.
The Houthis have not disclosed why al-Gamari died. However, it is known that he was a priority target of an Israeli strike on Sana'a in August.
In late September, the Israeli army (IDF) struck Ansar Allah targets in the Yemeni capital Sana'a, as announced by Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz.
On September 10, the Israeli military attacked Houthi military facilities in the Sana'a and al-Jawf province areas of Yemen. According to a statement from the IDF Spokesperson's Office, the strikes targeted military camps, the headquarters of the Military Information Division, and a fuel depot. The actions were in response to attacks by the Houthis, including drone and rocket launches toward Israel.
