It's already been tested on Russia.

The American drone software company Auterion has announced the successful completion of the Artemis project. It is about the creation of a long-range kamikaze drone with artificial intelligence.

According to the Ukrainian publication Defense Express, this drone was created jointly with a Ukrainian company, the name of which is not disclosed for security reasons. The UAV has a range of 1,600 kilometers and its warhead weighs 45 kilograms. In addition, the drone is equipped with visual guidance using artificial intelligence algorithms.

It is noted that the new drone has already undergone full-fledged tests. The company says they "included ground launch, GPS and non-GPS navigation, long-range transit and ground triggering."

"The main feature of Artemis is precisely the navigation and guidance system based on Auterion's Skynode N onboard computer. As stated, it "allows the drone to aim and engage targets even in the event of satellite navigation failures" and "provides the highest accuracy at the end of the flight," the material says.

The navigation and guidance system was probably integrated into a whole line of drones with different ranges at once. At the same time, the key stake in the company Auterion make exactly on the long-range version, and its production will be mass. Production lines are being built in Ukraine, the United States and Germany.

The publication notes that this is a serial autonomous long-range drone with proven effectiveness in strikes directly against Russia. Otherwise, according to the authors, the phrase about "long-range transit and ground triggering" is difficult to interpret.

The piece says that in early December 2024, during a visit to Ukraine by Olaf Scholz, a drone very similar to the "Shahed" was shown. Its size would hardly allow it to cover a distance of 1,600 km with 45 kilograms of payload. However, it may have been a "junior" representative of the Artemis family of drones.

In March, such drones were first used in combat by the 12th Azov Special Forces Brigade. It was noted that this drone was fully autonomous, which may be a reference to the Auterion solution, the authors believe. This drone was called UAS SETH.

"Against the background of its use, it is possible to cite another phrase from the official Auterion message: "government experts approved the program [Artemis] after operational flight tests in Ukraine."

That is why, with a high degree of probability, it is on the basis of this UAS SETH, but by significantly increasing its size and got Artemis ALM-20. Because the original "Shahed" has very impressive dimensions - about 3.5 meters in length, 2.5 meters wingspan", - states the publication.
