The German Chancellor and the U.S. President had a telephone conversation.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz had a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump, during which he told him about the idea to use frozen Russian assets to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was announced to journalists by the official representative of the German Cabinet Stefan Cornelius.

According to him, the conversation was devoted to the Russian Federation's war in Ukraine.

"The German Chancellor informed him about the initiative to use frozen Russian assets to support the Ukrainian armed forces," Cornelius said.

The representative of the German Cabinet added that the presidents agreed to continue working together to end the Russian Federation's war in Ukraine as soon as possible.
