Lithuania Protested To Belarus Over New Hybrid Attacks

A representative of the Belarusian Embassy was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania. This is reported on the website of the Foreign Ministry.

The Lithuanian Foreign Ministry pointed out that the Belarusian side was once again expressed strong protest over the violations of the Lithuanian airspace, "which should be regarded as hybrid attacks.

The Ministry specified that the airspace violations, recorded on November 8 and 10, when illegal balloons from the territory of Belarus posed a threat to civil aviation and public safety.

Lithuanian Foreign Ministry reminded the Charge d'Affaires of the Belarusian Embassy that in case of repeated violations of the state border of the republic, Lithuania reserves the right to extend for a longer period of time the restrictions on crossing the Lithuanian-Belarusian border, introduced by the government decree № 733 of October 29, 2025, or to take additional measures.

In late October, Lithuania closed the border with Belarus for a month, explaining it by the appearance in the airspace of the country of meteoprobes used for smuggling and posing a threat to civil aviation. In response, Minsk imposed a ban on the movement of trucks registered in Lithuania and Poland across the Belarusian territory.
