The Lithuanian Foreign Minister also said when Vilnius would open the border with Belarus.
Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kiastutis Budrys said he opposes negotiations with Belarus over the border closure.
This was reported by Reuters.
Lukashenko instructed his foreign minister to start talks with Lithuania today, November 11.
Budrys stressed that "Lukashenko does not set the rules" in the situation with the closure of checkpoints on the Belarus-Lithuania border.
"I urge my government not to follow the path they are trying to impose on us," he said.
The Lithuanian Foreign Minister added that the United States is "fully" involved in the process.
Budrys said Lithuania will open the border with Belarus if smugglers stop violating its airspace. In addition, some 1,000 Lithuanian trucks that remain on Belarusian territory must be allowed to return in order to open the crossing points.
