Aleksandar Vucic said he would go along with the protesters.
Serbia will hold early parliamentary elections, the country's President Alexandar Vucic said, Srbija Danas reports.
He said the vote will take place before the expiration of the current parliamentary term, which ends in December 2027. The exact dates will be determined at a later date. "Respecting the demands of the blockaders, who represent a significant minority in our country, we will meet them and the elections will be held early," he said.
Mass protests erupted in Serbia on the anniversary of the collapse of a canopy at the Novi Sad train station, where 16 people were killed on November 1, 2024. However, people came out to demonstrations earlier, throughout 2025. Since May, among the demands has been the holding of early elections in the country.
