Ukrainian defenders used drones to attack the Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez oil refinery in the town of Kstovo. Dozens of drones were used for the strike.
Sources in the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry told RBC-Ukraine that the attack took place on the night of November 4. The drones were controlled by operators of the Defense Ministry's GUR, the AFU and the Special Operations Forces.
The warriors used more than fifty Ukrainian-made drones for the strike, in particular the "Bober" and FP-1.
The sources specified that the attack took place during the repair of a rectification column, which is responsible for the primary processing of oil and was damaged as a result of preliminary attacks.
A number of Russian Telegram channels also reported on the strike on the Kstovo refinery. Videos that appeared online showed explosions and a fire at the facility.
Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez is one of the largest oil refineries in Russia, supplying, in particular, the Moscow region, which accounts for about 30% of gasoline consumption in the country.
The facility's primary oil refining capacity is about 17 million tons per year.
The refinery produces more than 50 types of products, including automotive, jet and diesel fuel, as well as oil bitumen, paraffins and other petroleum products.
The refinery's products are actively used by Russian occupation troops and the defense-industrial complex of the aggressor country.
