Polina-Sharendo Panasiuk Received The Czech Prize "Stories Of Disenfranchisement"

For fighting an illegal regime.
The activist of the civil campaign "European Belarus" Polina Sharendo-Panasiuk has received the Czech award "Příběhy bezpráví" ("Stories of Disenfranchisement"). The former political prisoner became a laureate of the award in 2021, but received it only this year. Belarusian prisoners of conscience Ksenia Syromolot and Nikita Emelianov also became laureates, reported activist of the Belarusian diaspora in the Czech Republic Kristina Shienok.
The Czech prize "Stories of Disenfranchisement" is awarded to people who actively resisted the communist regime, showed a courageous position and deserve respect and recognition. The laureates are chosen annually by a student jury.
Polina Sharendo-Panasiuk was detained on January 3, 2021. On June 9, 2021, the court of Maskouski district of Brest sentenced her to two years in prison.
The political prisoner has actually served four terms in the colony: the mother of two children, after the first sentence was passed, her stay in prison was extended three times. Almost all the time behind bars, Polina was in complete isolation. Her health deteriorated badly in the colony.
