Lukoil Refinery In Volgograd Halted Operations Due To Drone Attack

Lukoil's oil refinery (Volgograd, Russia) has suspended operations. This happened due to equipment damage after a drone attack that took place the day before, November 6.
This is reported by Reuters. The publication refers to three sources in the company of the aggressor country. However, Lukoil declined to comment on the journalists' request.
The strike damaged the AVT-5 primary unit with a capacity of 9,110 tons per day (about 20% of the plant's total capacity) and the hydrocracking unit with a capacity of 11,000 tons per day.
The plant stopped its work, however. It is noted that the AVT-5 unit was on fire, there is damage to the hydrocracking unit.
"The bomb squad is working. When they finish, then they will start examining the equipment," one of the agency's interlocutors said.

On Thursday morning, November 6, the regional administration, citing Governor Andrey Bocharov, reported a fire that broke out as a result of falling drone debris in the Krasnoarmeysky district of Volgograd, where the enterprise is located.
The Volgograd refinery did not sell oil products on Nov. 6 at the St. Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange. In a note on planned sales volumes updated on the exchange's website on Thursday, the November sales plan was zeroed out.
It was previously expected that 105,529 tons of gasoline, 236,773 tons of diesel fuel and 10,848 tons of fuel oil would be sold this month.
In addition to the damaged AVT-5 primary refining unit, the Volgograd refinery has AVT-1 (capacity 18,590 tons per day - about 40%) and AVT-6 (14,570 tons per day - 31%) units.
According to traders, in 2024, the Volgograd refinery processed 13.5 million tons of oil (about 5% of the total refining volume in Russia), producing 1.9 million tons of gasoline, 6 million tons of diesel fuel and 0.7 million tons of fuel oil.
