According to the US president, the billionaire called him asking for help.

American leader Donald Trump criticized the European Commission's decision to fine billionaire social network X billionaire Ilon Musk 120 million euros. He said Europe is moving in a bad direction.

The White House reported this.

Trump said such a move by the European Commission is quite surprising.

"That's harsh. Do you consider it an attack? Ilon didn't call me to ask for help on this issue. But no, this is serious. I don't think it's right," he said.

The US president also expressed incomprehension as to how the EC could do this.

"I'll say more about this later. I will get a full report on that. Look, Europe needs to be very careful. They're doing a lot of things. We want to keep Europe Europe Europe. Europe is moving in a bad direction. It's very bad, very bad for people. We don't want Europe to change that much. They're going in very bad directions. It was a big... it was a big deal," the American leader said.

Social network X fine

The European Commission has fined US billionaire Ilon Musk's social network X 120 million euros (about $140 million). The reason for the fine is the violation of digital services rules in the EU, in particular, the "deceptive design" of the blue checkmark.

The US reacted sharply to such an action. In particular, Ilon Musk himself called for the EU to be "dissolved". Vice President J.D. Vance and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio also criticized the EU. Other pro-Trump senators and politicians, even resorted to open threats, including "don't defend Europe."

U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said the U.S. would maintain 50 percent tariffs on European goods if the fine for Musk's social network was not lifted.

In response, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski advised Musk to "roll to Mars, where there is no censorship of Nazi greetings." At the same time, Euro-politicians, columnists and experts harshly criticized the United States and Trump, as well as Musk and his social network.
