Zelensky Named Conditions For Elections In Ukraine During The War

Ukraine's president is ready to hold elections within the next three months.

Ukraine will be ready for elections within the next few months if Western partners help ensure the country's security, President Vladimir Zelensky said, RBC Ukraine reports.

"Since this question is raised today by the US president, I will answer briefly - I am ready for elections. Moreover, I ask now the US to help me, perhaps together with my European colleagues, to provide security for the elections, and then within the next 60-90 days Ukraine will be ready to hold elections," he said.

At the same time, according to Zelensky there are several questions to the process of organizing potential elections. "First of all, security, how to hold it, how to do it under shelling, under missiles. As for our military, the question of how they will vote. And the second question is the legislative basis for the legitimacy of the elections," he told reporters.

Donald Trump has repeatedly called for elections in Ukraine, once again he did so on December 9 in an interview with Politico.
