The Belarusian ruler not only congratulated Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on the 46th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, but also invited him to come to Minsk again.
‘I count on continuing our dialogue in Minsk within the framework of your official visit,’ the press service quotes the text of Aliaksandr Lukashenka's telegram.

In 2018, he withdrew the US from the nuclear deal that limited Iran's nuclear programme in exchange for easing economic sanctions, and in 2020, he ordered the assassination of General Qassem Suleimani, which was a national loss for Iran.
Last November, the US Justice Department said intelligence agencies had prevented an Iranian plot to assassinate Trump on the eve of the election. However, President Massoud Pezeshkian denied there was a plot.
Trump said the other day that he expects to negotiate with Iran on its nuclear-free status - and he prefers that to bombing. A little earlier, he signed an executive order reinstating the policy of ‘maximum pressure’ on Iran.
