A dangerous precedent for the regime has emerged.

Lukashenka's palace is following the events in the Middle East with genuine interest, namely the situation between Israel and Hamas.

Despite the differences, there is much in common. The junta is also taking hostages and trying to bargain. However, anxiety has replaced a certain euphoria associated with the fact that Israel has made an extremely unfavorable exchange deal (they say, we need to go all the way, like Hamas).

This model scares Lukashenka, who is known for not liking to keep deals, he is simply playing the long game with Europe, realizing that his term at the helm is now limited only by his physical condition, unlike the Europeans with their elections, ratings, etc.
