Anxiety Rules In Lukashenka's Palace

A dangerous precedent for the regime has emerged.

Lukashenka's palace is following the events in the Middle East with genuine interest, namely the situation between Israel and Hamas.

Despite the differences, there is much in common. The junta is also taking hostages and trying to bargain. However, anxiety has replaced a certain euphoria associated with the fact that Israel has made an extremely unfavorable exchange deal (they say, we need to go all the way, like Hamas).

A deal that Hamas is unable to fulfill may turn out to be the same end, only in a different format.

The new-old US President Donald Trump is eccentric and unpredictable, but is constant in his support of Israel.

He is demonstrating a clear model of negotiating, when the refusal to make a difficult deal for both parties may result in devastating consequences for the party that is disrupting the deal. The same model has been proposed in the case of Russia's war against Ukraine.

This model scares Lukashenka, who is known for not liking to keep deals, he is simply playing the long game with Europe, realizing that his term at the helm is now limited only by his physical condition, unlike the Europeans with their elections, ratings, etc.

And about how essentially different (not) the junta is from Hamas, you can listen in the story of the heroic Palina Sharenda-Panasyuk.
