Special Operation in Belarus: U.S. Acknowledges Lithuania’s Support

The Deputy Secretary of State spoke about how the operation went.
On Wednesday, US officials reported that they had secured the release of three "hostages" in Belarus, one of whom is a US citizen. This event was presented as a diplomatic victory for the administration of US President Donald Trump, writes Delfi.
"We are very pleased to hear that three hostages have been released in Belarus, including a US citizen... This is a significant day for America, the President, the Secretary of State," US Ambassador to Lithuania Kara McDonald told CNN.

Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Smith spoke about how the operation went.
"It was a special operation, we crossed the border, arrived in Minsk, met with Belarusian officials, they handed over three prisoners to us. We brought them to Lithuania, we are grateful to Lithuania for their help," Smith said.
"This is a happy day for Andrei, his wife Alesia and their children. After more than three years of separation, the family is together again. Thanks to President Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, his team, the government of Lithuania," said Stephen Kapus, head of Radio Free Europe.
