‘Every Such Decree By Lukashenka Is Slap In The Faces Of Belarusians’

Housing and communal services will become more expensive in Belarus.

On January 30, Lukashenka signed a decree on increasing tariffs for housing and communal services. The increase will be 0.5 base units (Br21), and this will happen in two stages — from January 1 and June 1.

This news caused a stir on the TikTok website Charter97.org. Here are the most vivid comments:

“Well, that's it, the “elections” are over, now they can go back to fleecing the people, rise prices for everything, and it will happen at the speed of the wind.”

“The salary is still the same, but the prices have gone up... Survive as you want.”

“A little more, and we will pay for cold water as if it were gold.”

“And when will the quality of housing and communal services improve?”

“With such prices, Belarusians will soon be taking loans to pay for utilities.”

“What about cheap electricity from the Belarusian NPP?”

“The “elections” are over — now we can raise utility rates. Once again, the people will pay for “stability”!

“As always, nothing good. And where did the promises go?”

“I wonder if the Drazdy dwellers will notice the increase in utility prices, do they even pay for utilities?”

“Each such decree by Lukashenka is a slap in the face to Belarusians. First he strangled business, now he’s finishing off the housing and utilities sector. Young people are fleeing the country, and he is pretending to be a tsar.”

“The poodle has re-elected himself — and again everything is on the collective farm according to the old scheme.”
