Lukashenka has appointed former chairman of the Ministry of Regional Executive Committee Aliaksandr Turchyn as prime minister of Belarus.
Aliaksandr Turchyn is 49 years old. He was born in Navahrudak. Graduated from the Belarusian State Economic University and the Academy of Management.
In 2004-2010, he worked in Karelichy District Executive Committee of Hrodna region, since 2010 - in Minsk Regional Executive Committee.
In 2018, he was appointed first deputy prime minister.
Since 2019 - chairman of the Minsk regional executive committee.
The former head of the government - 51-year-old Raman Halouchanka - served as Prime Minister of Belarus since June 2020. He will now head the National Bank.
