Illegals Storm The Belarusian-Latvian Border With Increasing Frequency

The flow of migrants has doubled in six months.

The number of migrants, trying to get from Belarus to Latvia bypassing the regular procedures, has increased 2.5 times in half a year, reported the State Border Guard Service of the country.

"In the first half of this year, 352 illegal migrants, who entered Latvia from Belarus, were detained. In the first half of last year, 140 such immigrants were detained," said the agency.

Most often citizens of Somalia and Afghanistan tried to cross the Belarusian-Latvian border in this way.
