MAZ Has Serious Problems In Russia

Sales are down, the market is shrinking.

Supplies of MAZ trucks to Russia in the first half of the year decreased by more than a third. However, due to the fact that the Russian market was falling faster, the share of the Belarusian manufacturer even increased, writes the site "Belarusians and the market".

Statistics on sales of new large-capacity trucks (HCV) in Russia in the first half of 2025 is given by the specialized agency "Avtostat".

According to this data, MAZ takes the fifth place.

For six months, the Belarusian manufacturer sold 1,668 units of vehicles, which is 33.7% less than in the first half of 2024. However, MAZ's share of the Russian market grew from 5% to 7.6%. In particular, it surpassed China's Dongfeng and Russia's Ural in the period under review.

In total, 22,013 vehicles were sold in Russia in the first half of the year, which is 55.9% less than last year's figure.

KAMAZ remained the leader. The Russian automobile plant sold 6,419 trucks, which is 20.7% less than in 2024. Its share is 29.2%. And KamAZ was surpassed by Chinese Sitrak, which lost 61.2% of sales. It sold 3,981 vehicles in the first half of 2025, with a market share of 18.1%.

The third and fourth places were taken, respectively, by two more Chinese companies Shacman and FAW. The former sold 2,074 trucks (minus 72.5%, 9.4% share), the latter - 1,972 (minus 67.6%, 9.0% share).
