Trump Made Several Statements About Zelensky And Putin

The U.S. president said he was "helping Ukraine a lot.

US President Donald Trump said that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky "got hit very hard." He said this while speaking to reporters on July 6.

"He got hit very hard, as I said he would. He got hit hard," Trump said, likely referring to increased Russian shelling of Ukraine.

Commenting on Zelensky's recent phone call, Trump said it was a "good conversation" and repeated his frustration with his conversation with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

He also said he was "helping a lot" in Ukraine and reiterated that the war could have been avoided if he had been president in 2022.
