The military wants to implement such classes nationwide.
The military have started training drone operators in Belarusian schools, writes "Euroradio" Special profile classes are being created for this purpose. This was told in an interview with Belarusian TV by the head of the department of the Department of Application and Development of Unmanned Aerial Complexes (UAC) of the Armed Forces Denis Dudkin.
"It is from the school bench that children have this love for aviation, in this case unmanned aviation. Children grasp these skills faster, they show a certain creativity and show their desire to show the possibilities of use," explained Dudkin.
At least two specialized classes are already working: in the 64th school in Minsk and in Berezovsky district.
According to the serviceman, the motivation of schoolchildren exceeds all expectations: "Small children's hands, holding a remote control, merge with this technique and work wonders."
In Berezovsky district, he says, the training began with ordinary tourist practices, like making fires. "That is about some standard life lessons, and gradually approaching the operation of drones," the colonel continues.
In Minsk, children learn to fly drones on simulators. "We do not stop there, and in the future we plan to acquire real samples so that they perform flights already in real conditions in nature. This is not far off," Dudkin promised.
The Defense Ministry wants to spread this experience to other schools.
