ISW analysts revealed details about the battles for Kupyansk and Borovaya.
Geolocation footage indicates that Russian forces recently advanced to Sadovaya Street in Kupyansk. On September 15 and 16, Russian troops conducted offensive operations near Kupyansk itself, near Kondrashovka, near Krasnoye Pervoye, toward Petropavlovka, and toward Peschanoye.
Analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) outlined the situation in Kupyansk and the Borovoy area over the past 24 hours. A Russian source stated that Russian troops took under fire control about 5 km of the N-26 highway Kupyansk-Kharkiv near Stepnaya Novoselovka.

On September 15 and 16, Russian troops conducted offensive operations east of Borovoy in the direction of Shikovka, near Zakhrizovo, and near Grekovka.
The deputy commander of the Ukrainian brigade operating in the Borovoy direction said that the number of Russian troops in the area has decreased by 10-15% over the past one to two weeks, probably due to significant Russian casualties, but that the Russian military command is moving reinforcements to the area.
The deputy commander said that Russian troops continue to attack in small firing groups of two to four men and conduct three to five attacks per day.
