Their legal status has not been regulated for a long time.
Restrictions on the full operation of about 8 thousand MTZ tractors in Poland will be lifted. Such a decision was taken by the European Commission.
According to Polish media, the Polish government has achieved the legalization of the use of about 8 thousand tractors of Minsk Tractor Plant imported after 2016 by the country's farmers. Their legal status in the EU was still not fully regulated.
"We have received the European Commission's consent to apply special rules under the Approval Systems Act to tractors imported from Belarus after 2016. Almost 8,000 such machines entering the Polish market had an unclear formal and legal status. We have prepared the relevant regulations. These rules will be submitted to the Standing Committee of the Council of Ministers in May, which will regulate this situation and represent a kind of amnesty applied to vehicles currently used by farmers. We want these vehicles to receive a special marking at technical inspection stations during technical checks and to be available on public roads so that farmers can use them in agricultural work. We want Polish farmers to be able to safely use these machines without any restrictions," said Polish Infrastructure Minister Dariusz Klimczak.
The problem with these machines was caused by the fact that they were delivered to the country without a full set of authorization documents to meet certain EU requirements. In particular, until recently, they were not able to obtain permits for legal movement on public roads during technical inspections.
