Belarus is not considered a partner by NATO any more?

The Belarusian side finds the decision of the NATO on limiting the level of participation of the partner-country delegation o in the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council (EAPC) unacceptable, and for reasons of principle refuses to take part in the summit.

“Belarusian Foreign Ministry finds the decision of the NATO to limit participation of the partner country delegation in the EAPC unacceptable,” the statement of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus reads, Interfax reports.

“In this connection Belarus has to refuse to participate in the Bucharest EAPC summit for reasons of principle,” the statement reads.

On April 3, 2008 the session of the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council (EAPC) at the level of heads of states/governments is to take place in Bucharest. Belarus has been informed that the NATO had taken a decision to limit the level of participation of the Belarusian side in the forthcoming meeting of the EAPC.
