Regions stand for boycott of such “election” (Photo)

Informational materials calling for boycotting of the imminent “parliamentary elections” have appeared in Maladechna and Valozhyn (Minsk region).

Stickers were pasted in the towns by local young activists, who are sure that “election” cannot be free and fair under the current regime.

As we have informed, in autumn - 2008 a parliamentary vote is to take place in Belarus. In view of political repressions’ increase in the country, lack of the regime’s desire to liberalize the Electoral Code, and as long as all elections and referendums since 1996 were recognized not free and undemocratic by international organisations, youth organisations and the civil society of Belarus call upon a boycott of this “election”.
