Lukashenka hinting again: Salaries to fall in nearest 1-1,5 years

Alyaksandr Lukashenka has recently said he didn’t hide his intention to carry out the ruble devaluation, he “hinted” about it. But people “didn’t understand” him.

Journalists of the Charter’97 press center decided to estimate the latest speeches of Lukashenka from this position.

So, official “Zvyazda” newspaper on January 14 quoted Lukashenka’s words he said during his visit of Belkommunmash enterprise:

“The main thing for me is to preserve industry. We can get less payment, but it is only for a year or a year and a half...” “Zvyazda” quotes the Belarusian ruler.

Thus, judging by Lukashenka’s assurances, he doesn’t hide anything from people, but gives hints about impending changes in policy and economy of the country from time to time, and the Belarusians can have a clearer view on payments prospects.

By the way, “Sovetskaya Belorrusiya” issued an article titled “One can learn from King” corrected Lukashenka’s words and misquoted him. Instead of “a year or a year and a half” they wrote “a short time”, and the whole quote looks like this:
