Abramava admitted that Lukashenka decides everything for “chamber”

A former deputy of the Belarusian “chamber of representatives” told how so-called “deputies” vote.

As we have informed, the world community hasn’t recognized the “parliamentary elections” in Belarus as free and democratic. So the newly formed “chamber of representatives” cannot be considered legitimate.

“I have learnt the make-up of the new “parliament” perfectly well. About 37% of the parliamentarians from the previous “chamber of representatives” have become MPs again. I can say that Belarus has never witnessed such a sterile supreme legislative body,” Volha Abramava told to “Belorusskiy Partisan”.

The former deputy has also expressed an opinion that the issue of South Ossetia and Abkhazia’s recognition by the Belarusian parliament is actually to be decided by A. Lukashenka.

“If someone would decide to vote against recognition of South Ossetia and Abkhazia’s independence, it would be done only at the bidding of higher authority,” Abramava said. “A different scenario of development of affairs is ruled out for many reasons. (…) I think that the issue of recognition or non-recognition of Sukhumi and Tskhnivali is not so important and relevant for Moscow any more, as it was a few months ago, but anyway it is a touchstone for Russian - Belarusian relations. I am convinced that it was on the list of conditions for granting another Russian loan on favourable terms, the second tranche of which we are to receive soon by the way,” the former “deputy” believes.
