Victor Nebozhenko: Putin did not like the agreement between Ukraine and Belarus

Ukraine signed the agreement on transit of Venezuelan oil to Belarus.

A political scientist, director of a sociological service “Ukrainian Barometer” Victor Nebozhenko commented this information to the “Energy Expert Center”:

-- Russian Premier Vladimir Putin will not like the agreement between Ukraine and Belarus on transportation of Venezuelan oil through the pipeline “Odessa – Brody”, and this, in its turn, will complicate negotiations about gas price decreasing for Kiev.

When Putin was in Ukraine, he openly showed his discontent concerning the perspective of deliveries of Venezuelan oil to Belarus through Ukraine.

Russia has been thinking for a long time, that only it can come to an agreement with Chavez, Lukashenka, Yanukovych separately. Russian Premier was not delighted with the fact that the parties agreed per se behind Putin’s back.

Taking into consideration the intentions of Baltic Republics to assist Belarus as well, it creates a very strange situation of tension in the region.

The agreement between Ukraine and Belarus will create serious problems in other spheres of the relationship between Ukraine and Russia. In the first place, it concerns negotiations on gas price decreasing.
