Belarusian youth detained for white-red-white ribbons

The campaign of the Young Front "The city is ours!" in Homel was accompanied by arrests.

Police seized ribbons in colours of the national flag and leaflets from two member sof the Young Front, but the activists still managed to disseminate national symbols in Homel and placed a white-red-white flag on one of the bridges of the city.

On June 9 in the evening Homel police detained deputy chairman of the Young Front Mikalai Dzemidenka and Anton Nazarenka. Reports for violation of Article 23.14 of the Administrative Code have been drawn up against them (violation of the rules of sanitation in populated areas), 316 leaflets and 200 metres of white-red-white ribbon were seized.
