From the year of 2011 the Russian gas price for Belarus will increase considerably by 35%.

The cost of imported gas for Belarus will make up about $250 for thousand cubic meters at the beginning of 2011 depending on oil price fluctuation, a source of “Interfax-West” in the gas branch reported to the agency.

“At the beginning of the year of 2011 the gas import price may rise approximately up to the level of $250 for thousand cubic meters, based on the formula of price formation, on oil price fluctuations and abolition of the decreasing coefficient”, - it said.

Thus, in comparison with the expected average annual price of the year of 2010 ($186 for thousand cubic meters - IF), gas import price starting from the beginning of the year of 2011 will rise for Belarus approximately by 35% in case contractual conditions are preserved and the prolongation of the refusal of the Russian side to collect export duties for gas during its deliveries to Belarus.

“There is no additional information, whether the Parties are preparing alterations or addenda to the contract, in particular concerning the use of decreasing coefficients policy. Next year we will be working within the frameworks of the contract”, - it stated.
