Alyaksandr Kirkevich to face from 3 up to 8 years in prison?

The house of Young Front activist Alyaksandr Kirkevich from Hrodna was searched on January 28. He was taken to the KGB department, later he called his mother and told he was being guarded to the KGB jail in Minsk.

Later Kirkevich’s lawyer from Minsk phoned his mother and said he may face from 3 up to 8 years in prison, Radio Svaboda informs.

Larysa, Alyaksandr Kirkevich’c mother, tries to find out the exact location of her son and clear up shy he may face such a huge term. She was especially scared of a phone call from a Minsk lawyer, who didn’t introduced herself.

Kirkevich’s mother says her son didn’t take warn clothes or even a toothbrush with him. Her calls to Minsk and attempts of Alyaksandr’s friends from Minsk to found out his location were unsuccessful. The KGB jail didn’t give any information. The detention facility in Akrestsin Street says they don’t have such a person.

Alyaksandr Kirkervich served ten days of arrest in Minsk for taking part in a solidarity action on December 24 near the detention facility in Akrestsin Street. His friends suppose he may be tried for taking part in a demonstration held on December 19.
