Belarus’s deficit trade achieved $8.4bn

The negative balance of trade in goods in January—November 2010 was $8.38bn.

The trade deficit was only $6.318bn in January—November 2009 and $6.932bn in January—October 2010. The volume of foreign trade in goods in January—November period increased by 18.4% reaching $52.77bn. The exports rose by 16.1% up to $22.195bn; the imports demonstrated a 20.2% growth achieving $30.575bn, BelaPAN news agency reports.

The balance in trade with the CIS countries in January—November was negative ($5.761bn) against the deficit of $7.928bn YoY. The exports grew by 45.9% reaching $12.253bn, imports grew by 10.3% ($18.14bn). The volume of foreign trade in January—November achieved $30.267bn showing a 22.4% increase.

The balance in trade with Russia was negative ($6.978bn) against the negative balance of $8.96bn in January—November 2009. The foreign trade turnover with Russia rose by 18% up to $24.811bn. The exports grew by 47.7% (up to $8.916bn), imports increased by 6% (up to $15.894bn).

The trade turnover with Kazakhstan increased 2.1fold reaching $752.8m. The exports went up by 49.9% (up to $430.4m); the imports increased 4.9fold (up t0 $322.4m). The trade balance in trade in Kazakhstan was positive ($108m) against $220.6m in January—November 2009.

The foreign trade turnout with non-CIS countries grew by 13.5% reaching $22.502bn. The exports fell by 7.2% to $9.942bn; the imports rose by 37.9% up to $12.56bn. The trade deficit is $2.618bn against positive balance of $1.61bn for the same period 2009.
