Belarusian ruble officially devalued 52%

The Belarusian ruble has been devalued 289% since the beginning of the year.

The exchange rate of the Belarusian ruble against the US dollar on the unified trade session on October 20 was Br8,680 per dollar.

Interfax-Zapad news agency learnt this from traders.

The official exchange rate of the Belarusian ruble against the dollar at the main trade session yesterday was Br 5,712 per dollar. The official rate of the ruble has been devalued 52%.

The market exchange rate of the ruble against the dollar at the extra session on Wednesday was 8,790 per dollar. So, the market rate of ruble has grown by 1,25%.

The exchange rate of the Belarusian ruble against the euro on Thursday was 11,900 per euro (a 2.1% growth against yesterday’s rate at the extra session), against the Russian ruble – 277 per ruble (a 2.1 increase). Against the previous official exchange rate, the Belarusian ruble fell by 50.8% against the euro and by 50% against the Russian ruble.

As earlier reported, the fixing rate at the unified trade session on October 20 will be declared the official rate of the National Bank from the day following the trading day. The official exchange rate on January 1, 2011 was 3,000 rubles per dollar.

The Belarusian ruble was officially devalued 289% since the beginning of the year.
