Innocent Saturday movie pulled from Belarusian cinemas

Innocent Saturday, a film by Alexander Mindadze about the Chernobyl disaster, has been removed from Minsk cinemas.

There have been no explanations why it was decided not to show the movie. Instead, Minsk residents will be offered to watch action film The Fifth Execution by Aleksandr Yakimchuk and thriller Insidious.

Innocent Saturday is a film about the Chernobyl disaster. The main hero, a young party official, who learned about the accident at night, arrived at the nuclear power plant to find himself among the first few people to see the scale and danger of the situation.

The 25th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster is marked this year. Innocent Saturday was the first Russian film about the tragedy during 25 years.
