Pickets of solidarity banned in Minsk

On March 28, the Minsk city executive committee forbade holding two pickets of solidarity with political prisoners.

Activists of the Minsk branch of Tell the Truth organization were going to carry out pickets as part of People’s Solidarity campaign.

As usual, the reasons for refusal were hidden behind bureaucratic phrasing, liked so much by officials, regarding close location of bus stops and metro stations.

We remind that People’s Solidarity campaign was launched on February 28. Activists of Tell the Truth campaign applied for holding pickets of solidarity all over the country. A picket was allowed only in the town of Hlubokaye. It was carried out on March 19, the campaign’s website informs.
