Stanislau Shushkevich: There’s no more criminal institution than our court

“They are not judges, but officials. They must convict people. This is their task,” Stanislau Shushkeivch comments on trials over participants of post-election protests on the Square.

“It’s a shame that even young girls are involved in this. They are allowed to a feeder and told: you will not let to the feeder if you conduct fair trials,” the first head of Belarus said.

The politician noticed that Belarusians do not have true information about trials and the post-election demonstration. According to Stanislau Shushkevich, Belarusian society is “being poisoned with wrongful information about gangsterism and a coup.” “How can one speak about a coup, when normal people, intellectuals, honour of the nation knew about rigging and falsifications and wanted to show how many people were against this. There was a fight in response. This is a state gangsterism, state terrorism,” Stanislau Shushkevich says. “This comes from one person, who is simple-minded, by the way.”

As for trials, Stanislau Shushkevich is convinced that judges have orders concerning the sentences they should give. “There is no more criminal institution than our court,” Stanislau Shushkevich told in an interview to Belsat TV. “I think we will see a time when they [judges] will stand real trial and answer for what they are doing now.”
