Gays detained near Lukashenka’s administration

LGBT movement activists were detained not far from the presidential administration, and then released from the police department without reports being drawn up against them.

BelaPAN was informed about that by one of the leaders of the movement in Belarus Syarhei Androsenka.

As said by him, 15 participants of the rally, including a pregnant woman, were taken to the police department of Leninski district of Minsk. The rally was dedicated to the International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia.

As noted by Androsenka, when detaining the participants of the rally, policemen were polite. Some were detained by unknown people in mufti. About a thousand of postcards with information about the rights of homosexuals have been seized.

Besides, Androsenka noted that he does not have information about the person, who had placed rainbow flags, LGBT pride flags, in Independence and Victors’ Avenues. “They probably were supporters of the LGBT movement, who did not want to advertise themselves, but marked the International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia in such a way,” Androsenka said.

As said by him, the detained participants of the rally plan to write a complaint to the prosecutor’s office and to the officership of Leninski district police department. In particular, the detainees were not explained their rights, some of them were forced to be fingerprinted, and so on.
