Lawyer of “New Life” church detained

Policemen from the police department of Central district of Minsk have detained a lawyer of “New Life” church congregation Syarhei Lukanin.

He told to “Narodnaya Volya” that he had been reading the Bible in the centre of the city, near McDonalds restaurant. He was urging people to turn to God amid the crisis, and not to panic and buy up different goods.

An administrative report was drawn up against Lukanin. He was charged with holding an unsanctioned meeting. The lawyer explained that a crowd of people really gathered around him. They wanted to listen to the quotes from the Book of Books.
