Ruble-dollar black market exchange rate reaches 6,350

The black market exchange rate of the Belarusian ruble to the dollar has slightly increased in the last weeks.

The equilibrium point now is about 6,350 rubles per dollar. The three pillars of the Belarusian economy of the recent time – foreign currency speculators, users of prokopovi.ch website and currency exchange offices in Vilnius agree on this opinion. So, dollar is bought at 6,200 to 6,300 rubles per dollar and sold at from 6,400 to 6,600 rubles per dollar. The real exchange rate to the euro is from 9,000 to 9,100 Belarusian rubles, to the Russian rubles – about 225 Belarusian rubles, “Nasha Niva” newspaper writes.

The Belarusian National Bank has not changed its opinion expressed on June 15 – 5,000 Belarusian rubles per dollar is “the only balanced exchange rate on all segments of the currency market”. The official exchange rate remains 4,950 rubles per dollar in the recent days.

The difference between the official and black market exchange rates is now about 28-29%.
