Belarus’ national debt has increased by 68.5% in January-May

By June 1, 2011 the national debt of Belarus was equal to 64.589 trillion Belarusian rubles, and increased by 68.5% since the beginning of the year; and by51.4% in May taken alone.

It is demonstrated by the reports of the Belarusian Statistics and Analysis Ministry, BelaPAN informs.

The foreign debt in rubles has grown by 83.6% in January-May. In May it had grown by 63.6% -- up to Br 53.352 trillion. Such a rapid growth is explained by devaluation of the national currency.

As of early June, the volume of the internal debt was Br 11.236 trillion, having increased by 21.2% since the beginning of the year, and by 11% in May.

According to the information of the Belarusian Statistics and Analysis Ministry, in the structure of the national debt, the debt of the central government was Br 54.677 trillion, and increased by 79.1% in January-May, 19.9% of which in May.
