Lyabedzka: The best variant is that Lukashenka leaves the country

The Belarusian dictator offers Europe to take all unsatisfied people. But he himself gets an offer leave the country.

“If the EU wants to take them, we will buy them [political prisoners] a ticket and send them. No problem – take them. If they [the EU] are so zealous supporters of political prisoners, we will pack them in a coach tomorrow. I will make a decision, as I have the right to make such decisions, and everyone, even those who were not imprisoned and moos on squares [people given suspended sentences – Interfax], everyone, whom they admire so much, will be loaded in a railway coach and sent to you,” Lukashenka told journalist during his working trip to Shklou, Belsat reminds.

The leader of the United Civil Party, Anatol Lyabedzka, thinks the Belarusian railway will not cope with the flow of all people dissatisfied with the government policy. The politician reminds that according to the latest opinion polls by Independent Institute of Socio-Economic and Political Studies (IISEPS), up to 75% of the country’s population do not agree with actions by the authorities in economical, social and political sectors.

Also, Anatol Lyabedzka thinks that “the dissatisfied do not agree to leave the country”, that’s why they struggle to improve the situation: “Or Mr Lukashenka can repeat Joseph Stalin’s act and deport Belarusians like Stalin deported the Chechen people.” The opposition politician says there’s another way to solve the problem and offers Alyaksandr Lukashenka and his close circle to leave the country on the presidential Boeing. “It would be the best way out for everyone,” Anatol Lyabedzka is convinced.

As for Lukashenka’s remark about his unreadiness to trade in political prisoners, because “these are human beings, whether they are bad or good, these are human destinies”, Anatol Lyabedzka thinks the dictator is not honest: “In our country, opponents of the authorities have always been thrown into prisons not to change their thoughts, but to use them as bargain chips for political or economic concessions.”
