No persons responsible for organizing Minsk metro bombing found

Investigators think that perpetrators of the terrorist attack in the Minsk metro did it alone. No sponsors who could have ordered the attack were found.

The preliminary investigation in the terrorist attack in the Minsk metro in April 2011 and blasts in Minsk in 2008 and in Vitsebsk in 2005, was completed, the deputy prosecutor general of Belarus, Andrei Shved, told journalists on Monday, Interfax-Zapad news agency reports.

“The preliminary investigation of the criminal case over terrorist attacks in the Minsk metro in April this year, in Minsk in 2008 and in Vitsebsk in 2005 has been completed,” Shved said.

“The criminal case has been sent to the prosecutor today to be further sent to court,” he added.

No sponsors found

Investigators do not think that the terrorist attacks committed in Belarus in 2005, 2008 and 2011, were ordered by someone, the deputy prosecutor general of Belarus, Andrei Shved, told journalists on Monday.

“I take all responsibility to say that no data pointing at any sponsors behind Kovalev and Konovalov were found during the investigation of the criminal case and special investigation activities. We did not find even indirect data,” Shved said.

“I can say with all certainty that they did it alone,” he stated.

The deputy prosecutor general stressed that the Belarusian terrorists have been conducting their criminal activity for ten years. “They commit the first crime in 2000,” Shved said.
