“Big boys” wanted to jump queue to buy foreign currency

The scandal which threatened to turn into a mass fight, happened near one of exchange offices in Minsk.

Muscular guys were trying to push back the queue, stating that “important people need currency.”

“On Tuesday three young men came into sight near our queue, and they immediately stated that now only them would buy currency here, as “currency is needed for big boys”, speaking at their patrons,” interfax.by reporter was told by one of the persons in the queue.

As said by her, when the queue disagreed with the arguments of the newcomer, and they said, that “if we do not want to decide the issue amicably, it would be decided by force.”

“And today 8 “sportsmen” (as the woman called them) appeared near the exchange office, and they are trying to take the queue under control,” the interlocutor said. In a little while, three guys who threatened the queue on the day before, arrived.

She says that these people constantly call someone and took advice, they brazen it out and provoke other people.

“A fight can start,” the woman is sure. “Passions are rising. A girl who had been elected by us to keep a register, receives phone calls from unknown persons on her mobile phone. They present themselves as KGB officers and offer her to visit them “for a conversation.” When she asks their names, they say: “What difference it makes to you?” the interlocutor said.

“Such situation happens for the first time. Previously everything was quiet. All people standing in the queue (and there were 400 of them) are registered every day, people stand in the queue at night in turns, 2 hours each. There have never been any criminal situations,” she said.

The queue thinks “strangers” are force structures representatives in plainclothes.

“Those three guys who intimidated us yesterday, left in a car, which is registered as property of a relative of one of high-ranking officials from law-enforcing agencies,” the woman said. As said by her, one of the persons in the queue told about the situation at the hot line of the Interior Affairs Ministry.

Citizens in the queue have also made pictures of the aggressors and are ready to offer the pictures to law-enforcing agencies.

We remind that it is not the first attempt of taking over the queue to the currency exchange office. Earlier it was informed that in the same situation riot police had to placate the “invaders.”
